This week we identified base words with ing and -ed endings. Our class decoded words with endings and recognized -ing and -ed spelling patterns. Our class also reviewed how to understand and identify time-of-action verbs with -ing and -ed. We reviewed the noun suffix er as well as practiced identifying verbs. This week we learned all about adjectives. We were introduced to our new memory words: there, from, be, we or, to. This week our class determined the meaning of key vocabulary words: sopping, rotten, sprinkler and giggle. Our class practiced using conjunctions and and or.
Our class practiced forming related addition and subtraction facts. We reviewed how to form fact families. This week our class learned to use facts from 12 or less to find the missing addend. Our class practiced using subtraction to compare sets.
This week we learned about the Church’s liturgical. We learned about Ordinary time. We also learned about all the different parts of Mass.
Our class explored Penguins. We learned all about baby penguins.
We learned all about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King. We discussed how we can dream like Dr. King. We wrote about one thing we dream to be and why.
